The Charis Place is a new adult social center that provides a culturally sensitive and stimulating environment for senior African Canadians. We offer a welcoming space for social connection, mental and physical engagement, and respite care, all infused with the rich traditions and values of the African diaspora. Music and dance programs featuring African music genres. (Karaoke, Obey, Sunny Ade, Miriam Makeba, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Ayinla Omowura, Thomas Mapfumo of Zimbabwe, Angelique Kidjo of Benin Republic etc)
Old Indigenous African Movies
Guest speakers focused on African history and cultural traditions.
Group discussions on topics relevant to African Canadians (e.g., immigration experiences, family dynamics).

Arts & crafts sessions using traditional materials and techniques. (Adire(Tie & Dye), Crocheting, knitting, painting, pottery, etc)
